Fat transfer techniques have been reviewed and discussed by facial plastic surgeons for many years, but now reliable and producible techniques are being incorporated into the aesthetic practice by many physicians. This issue of Clinics presents the work of authors who describe techniques that have been used for several years but have not changed materially because they produce consistently satisfactory results. Because fat transfer addresses a component of aging not previously addressed on a large scale, this technique is being used effectively alone or as an adjunct technique with more conventional lifting procedures. Details, limitations, and nuances of these senior authors' techniques and approach are described to incorporate fat transfer into the successful facial plastic surgery practice.
